History, uses and notes:

Rough Hawkbit is a little bit of a slow grower and can get outgrown if it has a lot of competition. 

It is a short hairy stemmed pollinator with a slight bulb at the top of the stem.

All the hawkweed types smell strongly and sweetly of honey when expanded in the full sunshine.

It has been ranked very high in meadow flora nectar productivity.

Flowering from June, right through to early autumn, Rough Hawkbit will help bring #bringthebeesback

Description:

Each flower is on a long, leafless stem. The leaves, stem and buds are covered in numerous hairs. The leaves have a winged stalk. The solitary flowerheads are 25 to 40 mm and are bright yellow, the outer rays orange or reddish beneath.
